CrossFit vs NFL: Thorisdottir Takes on NFL Running Back

Annie Thorisdottir is continuing to recover well from that back injury that saw her withdraw from this year’s Open, with the reigning CrossFit Games champion taking on an NFL Running Back in a pushup competition last week.

Thorisdottir went head to head with Jacksonville Jaguars star Justin Forsett at the Europa expo in Florida to see who could do the most push ups in two minutes.

Billed the ‘CrossFit vs. NFL’ challenge by those watching, Thorisdottir showed why she is still the fittest woman on Earth, winning 88-81 reps.

However, Iceland Annie was first to admit they might not have all been perfect reps, writing on her Facebook page:

“88-81 in my favor, form might not be games standard… ;-)”

While it was just a playful event between two professional athletes in different sports, it was enough to get some people talking, with some calling it a ‘win for CrossFit’.

Either way, it was just good to see Annie Thorisdottir moving well again, keeping her small chance of competing at this year’s CrossFit Games alive.

You can check out the video of the two-minute pushup competition above.
