Vitor Belfort’s Diet

The UFC is heading to Rio de Janeiro this weekend where the co-main event will be between Vitor Belfort and Anthony Johnson.

Vitor was one of the first fighters to make their way into the octagon appearing at UFC 12 back in 1997 at the tender age of 19. Nicknamed “The Phenom,” Vitor is once again making a run for the UFC belt. At 34 years old and with a career spanning over a decade, Vitor has recently hired Mike Dolce, creator the Dolce Diet to oversee his nutrition and weight cut.

Dolce has been in huge demand of late, helping fighters such as Gray Maynard, Thiago Alves, Johny Hendricks and Rampage Jackson to name a few. Most recently he stunned the MMA world when he successfully helped Keith Jardine lose 32 pounds, taking him from 217lbs to 185lbs for last weekends Strikeforce middleweight championship, which unfortunately he lost.

Dolce’s diet has received very mixed reviews, although whatever the case, he has successfully help many UFC athletes make weight. His principles are simple. He philosophy advocates for a whole food organic diet and in a recent interview he described it in the following way: “You have to watch where the cattle comes from, where the poultry comes from, how is it fed, how is it raised, is it genetically modified. That’s what I am talking about when it comes to nutrient levels. Everything has to be as pure as God made it.”

The UFC just posted a video of Dolce preparing breakfast for Vitor. You can check more of it out below.
