Rocklin CrossFit Wins WOD Gear Team Series Event!

Team Series Top Three!

Team Series Top Three!

It’s been two weeks since the 2012 CrossFit Games wrapped up, and Los Angeles was lucky enough to host another great CrossFit event over the weekend – The second annual WOD Gear Team Series!

Held at the famous Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA., the event took place on Saturday July 28th with a record 78 teams (2 men & 2 women) taking part.

The WOD Gear Team Series was held for the first time December last year, and this year registration was sold out in the first 20 minutes!

Plenty of well known CrossFitters, and Games athletes took part in the 2012 showpiece including Rebecca Voigt (10th place 2012 Games), Lindsey Valenzuela (9th place 2012 Games), Valerie Voboril (5th place 2012 Games), The Rx Review’s Katie Hogan, CrossFit veteran Pat BarberCamille Leblanc-Bazinet (6th place 2012 Games) and David Lipson.

The event consisted of four tough WODs, all held on the same day.

In the end it was Rocklin CrossFit who were crowned champions and took home a $5,000 winners check. The famous CrossFit Invicuts finished close behind in second place, while Dogtown RX’d rounded out the top three.

Held just a fortnight after the 2012 CrossFit Games, the competition was a great chance for individuals and teams to get something extra out of the CrossFit season, and was also a great opportunity for athletes to say they’ve actually competed on the famous Rose Bowl Stadium!

Hundreds of people turned up to the event, with admission on the day free. There was also a very special appearance by 2011 & 2012 CrossFit Games Champion Annie Thorisdottir, who enjoyed being a spectator this time around.

WOD Gear will be releasing some video footage of the event soon, but until then here’s some highlights of the 2011 Team Series:
