All the focus this week is on the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games, however, there is also another CrossFit Series that is taking place in Europe, which is getting a bit of attention.
‘The Box’ is a CrossFit series airing on the Eurosport channel, which covers the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Fitness Championships.
The Rx Review has been embedding all the episodes on out site for those with the sport channel, and this week, we add another two to the collection.
The Box – Eurosport – Episode #9 – On-Ramp in Austria & Sweden
This week, The Box will go to Vienna, Austria with Sebastian Rieder Head Coach for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. We will meet Philipp Wöhrle, 26, qualified athlete for the RCFFC final in Berlin on July 7th. He has been CrossFitting for over 12 months. He will take part in a very technical WOD supported by all his friends. We’ll learn more about one of the 9 functional movements of CrossFit, the Sumo Deadlift High Pull. Afterwards, we’ll head north to Sweden, where we’ll again meet Head Coach Rickard Walen and the dancer Karl Dyall. Numi Katrinarsson and his girlfriend, Elin Johnsdottir will share some thoughts from their home in Stockholm (?). In the Nordic box, we will also meet Louise Akesson, one of the best athletes of the country. Together they will work to improve their technique before doing a short and intense WOD.

Today, the final of the first 2012 Reebok CrossFit Fitness Championships takes place in Birmingham. 60 athletes from all over the UK are competing in 4 different WODs and are ready to push themselves to the limit.
