Camille Leblanc-Bazinet Heading Back to Canada

Camille Leblanc-Bazinet: Back to Canada

Camille Leblanc-Bazinet: Back to Canada

Registration is yet to begin for the 2013 CrossFit Open, but it does, we can expect a few athletes changing regions.

One of them, however, will not be Camille Leblanc-Bazinet.

The 6th finisher at the 2012 CrossFit Games has made the decision to return home to Canada next year, and will not be competing in the Southern California Region.

Leblanc-Bazinet has been living in San Diego for the past few months, and there had been a bit of talk about her representing So-Cal in 2013.

However, the three-time Games competitor will return to the Canada East Region where she will continue her full-time study in chemical engineering at Sherbrooke University.

“I had a lot of questions about where I was going to compete. But the truth is that I am Canadian and I want to represent where I am from,” she told HQ this week.

“I am not done with school, so I am not a full-time athlete … I am a full-time student, athlete, Level 1 Seminar coach, daughter, friend … it is hard to do all of it together.”

Leblanc-Bazinet will also have some unfinished business next year. She’ll be hoping to reclaim the Regional title taken from her by Michele Letendre in 2012!
