Australian Hero Games Raise Nearly $40K

Australian Hero Games

2012 Australian Hero Games

Last month the Australian Hero Games were held at a number of CrossFit gyms across the world for the first ever time.

The week long event was designed to raise funds for the Command Welfare Trust, which provides initial emergency funding and long-term financial assistance to the families of those wounded or killed in the line of duty.

The Australian Hero Games featured two workouts ‘Wood‘, and ‘Gallagher & McDonald’, with affiliates from across the world entering teams and individuals to take part in the competition.

The Rx Review is glad to announce that the 2012 Australian Hero Games managed to raise a whopping $39,347 for the trust!

The majority of the money was direct donations from affiliates and individuals, with the rest raised through competitions.

Here is a breakdown of where the money came from:

The online Affiliate-hosted competition – $15,000
The Holsworthy ADF private competition – $8,886
Direct donations from Affiliates and the public – $15,461

If you, or your affiliate, were unable to to compete last year, the good news is the event will be returning later this year. The dates and program for the 2013 AHG to be released in the near future.
