Just days after announcing details of the 2014 CrossFit Invitational, HQ has now released the roster for Team Australia.
On November 9 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, Team USA, Team Europe, Team Canada, and Team Australia will compete in back-to-back events during the two-hour competition.
Team Australia is the first roster to be announced so far. Here is who will be representing the Region:
The three time CrossFit Games competitor was leading for the majority of the 2014 competition, before succumbing to an injury in the Midline March and withdrwing from the Games.
The two-time Regional champ is one of the most consistent performers south of the hemisphere and will be crucial to Australia causing an upset at the 2014 Invitaitonal.
Webb also has experience in the event, helping Team World beat Team USA 24-19 last October in the 2013 CrossFit Invitational.
Forte is one of Australia’s most successful athletes having competed at four CrossFit Games, and finishing 12th in 2014.
He has dominated the Australia Regionals for the past two years and proved this year he can mix it with the best in the world.
Brown has qualified for two CrossFit Games, but only competed at one, after falling pregnant just months before the 2012 competition.
This year, the new mother upset Webb to win the Australia Regional and placed 17th at the 2014 CrossFit Games.
Porter made his Regional debut in 2013, and this year improved dramatically, finishing third in the region to qualify for his first ever CrossFit Games.
With a solid performance at the Beach Event on the Wednesday of the 2014 Games, Porter ended up finshing 27th overall, just ahead of regional friend, and three-time Games competitor Brandon Swan.
Chad Mackay – Coach
One of the biggest names in the Australia Region. Mackay has competed at three CrossFit Games, finishing inside the top 15 on all occasions.
Surprisingly he missed out on qualification in 2014 finishing outside the top 10 at the Australia Regional. However, he still went to the 2014 CrossFit Games as a coach of Lynne Knapman of the Masters 50-54 Division
