Froning & Bailey Break Records at Throwdown

The fittest man on earth just got even fitter!

One month after claiming back to back CrossFit Games titles, Rich Froning Jr. broke another one of his PR’s at a CrossFit Throwdown in Montana.

Froning clean and jerked a personal best 355 pounds, smashing his previous best by 30 pounds! In addition, he snatched 285 pounds to record a massive 290 kg total.

To give you an idea just how impressive that score is, had Froning’s lifts been at a sanctioned event, he would have qualified for the 2013 USAW National Championships in the 94 kg weight class!

Rich Froning’s training partner, Dan Bailey, was also at the CrossFit Tour Big Sky Event and also performed impressively. Bailey came extremely close to breaking his snatch PR by 20 pounds, failing on the 285 pound weight in three very good attempts.

2011 Games competitor Rob Orlando also took part in the throwdown, wearing a pair of jeans and eating cheesecake just minutes before the start. While he didn’t break a PR, he did pull out a very impressive 305 pound thruster.
