CrossFit Regionals: SoCal Winners

With names like Kristan Clever, Rebecca Voigt, Katie Hogan, Andrea Ager and Lindsey Valenzuela, the SoCal CrossFit Regionals were always going to be tough.

In the end, not all of them would qualify for the Games in July.

2010 Champ Clever made sure she would have a chance at reclaiming the ‘fittest women on earth’ title, winning the final event and finishing first on the leaderboard. Training partner Rebecca Voigt was four points behind her in second place, with surprise packet Valerie Voboril sneaking into the top three to earn herself a ticket to the Home Depot Center in July.

Lindsey Valenzuela finished in fourth spot but also secure qualification due to the fact a former champ (Clever) finished in the top three.

Unfortunately Katie Hogan (6th),  and Andrea Ager (5th) all missed out on qualifying spots meaning their Games campaign is effectively over.

In the men’s section, Jon Pera claimed victory, finishing one point ahead of favourite Kenneth Leverich, who finished the Open in third spot overall. Jeremy Kinnick claimed third spot. Josh Golden, who was leading the Open at various times a few months ago finished in 20th position.

CrossFit Invictus will compete in another Games, after claiming victory in the teams event, with Team CDR Redlands and CrossFit SoCal also qualifying.
