Talayna Fortunato After Day 3 of the 2014 CrossFit Games

Talayna Fortunato went into the 2014 CrossFit Games as one of the favourites to finish in the top 10.

The 2012 third place finisher at the Games put in another dominant performance at the South East Regional and was every chance of placing top three again after reigning champion Sam Briggs failed to qualify.

However, Fortunato’s hopes of a podium finish were all but dashed after Day 1, with 26th and 39th placings in the first two Events. The 33 year-old also appeared to be struggling with an injury in her right leg.

We caught up with Talayna Fortunato after Day 3 of the 2014 CrossFit Games after she had slipped to 32nd place on the leaderboard.

She spoke about the injury that has hampered her Games performance, her thoughts on this year’s competition and her expectations on the final day of competition.
