2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Open: 12.5 Day Two Results

48-hours into workout five of the Reebok CrossFit Games Open and the score to beat is 159-reps, held by non other than 2008 Games champ, Jason Khalipa. The closest female score is that of Kelly Jackson with 142-reps.

This was one of my favorite workouts last season so I’m glad to see it back again this year. It’s only seven minutes long but anyone who has done it can testify that as much as this is a lung burner, there is a lot of mental fortitude and determination required to pick that bar up when you hit that 5-minute mark.

I will say this is a workout were applying some simple strategy can really increase your overall output and score by a dozen or so reps. So if you are yet to apply one remember this is the last event and with it your last chance to climb your way up the leaderboard. If there was any a time to attempt the workout a second or third time now is your last opportunity.

In any event here is where we stand on day two, 12pm AEST, 18:00 PT:

Reebok CrossFit Games Open 12.5: Day 2 Womens

Reebok CrossFit Games Open 12.5: Day 2 Women’s

For the first time in three weeks someone has been able to take the 1st place score off Clever. Her 137-reps still maintains her in 2nd place for this workout but Kelley Jackson’s 142-reps means she now sit in 1st place for this workouts. Despite this Clever still sits in a comfortable 1st place overall, followed by Deborah Cordner (130-reps) in 2nd and Jackson in 3rd.

The well-known Lindsey Smith (120-reps) secured 4th overall with Kelley Hennigan’s 128-reps pushing her into 10th place.

To the men’s division: yesterday’s leader Orlando Trejo (145-reps) now sits in 2nd and has been replaced overnight by Sean Thomson with his score of 155.

Neal Maddox completed the workout again and upped his previous score of 146 to 158, moving him into 3rd overall. The only person to top Maddox score is his friend and training partner, Jason Khalipa with his impressive 159-rep performance giving him 5th place.

Spencer Hendel (119-reps), Austin Malleolo  (143-reps) and Josh Golden (136-reps) have all been pushed out of the top ten.

Other big names such as Pat Barber (145-reps) now sit in 7th, while Nick Urankar (141-reps) takes 8th. Rounding out the top ten today is David Charbonneau with 141-reps.

Reebok CrossFit Games Open 12.5: Day 2 Teams

Valley CrossFit who has been the most dominating team this season has lost their 1st place position. In fact they have been pushed out of the top ten altogether. Yet with two days left we would be surprised if we did not see them post some additional scores and once again regain that top spot on the leaderboard.

Today’s leader, RCF Honey Badgers (545-reps) is well accustomed to being in the top ten and is followed in 2nd place by CrossFit Wilmington (635-reps). NorCal CrossFit takes out 3rd with a combined score of 514.

The team leading this event is Hacks Pack UTE who secured 4th place overall with their score of 734-reps. Rounding out the top ten is CrossFit Springfield with a score of 577-reps.

Two days down means two days to go in this seasons 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Open. Can’t wait to see what the next 24-hours will bring to Leaderboard.
