Amanda Allen’s Muscle Up Training

42 year old Amanda Allen was the hard luck story at the CrossFit Regionals in 2012.

After surprising many people at the 2011 CrossFit Games, where she finished 19th overall, Allen was on track for a return to the Home Depot Center when things went horribly wrong.

Heading into the final workout of the Australian Regionals, Allen was in third spot overall, and held a commanding 11 point lead over Denae Brown in 4th place.

Basically, all she needed to do was complete the workout to qualify.

However, remarkably, Allen was unable to complete the final round of Muscle-Ups in the 17 minute cut off, and was subsequently disqualified.

6 months later, and with the pain of missing out on the Games still burning, Allen is continuing to train hard in the hope of making amends in 2013.

One of the things she has clearly been working on is Mucle-ups.

Here’s a video of her training this month, ripping through 5 MUs unbroken, and in fine form too!
